Bronx New York Things To Do
No trip to the Bronx would be complete without one of the Yankees "most prized treasures, Yankee Stadium. The Bronx is home to the Yankees, whether they own it or not, and is home to some of baseball's most beloved teams, from the Red Sox, Yankees, Mets and Yankees.
New York City consists of four boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and Queens County. Each borough is part of a New York borough; that is, Manhattan is part of New Jersey County, while Queens is part of the County of Queens. The Bronx, on the other hand, is not a "part" of Bronx County, since Brooklyn is part of King's County and Staten Island is part of Richmond County; it is still a separate borough.
If you have a website that you think is useful, please email me about New York City, which has five administrative departments called districts. Five miles south of Manhattan lies a slice of America known as the "forgotten district": the Bronx. Each district is designated as one of the five boroughs, and each borough has its own "Lower" (or "New York") Bay.
The district is home to the New York Yankees, one of the most popular sports teams in the world, and is also home to a number of popular locations, including the Brooklyn Bridge, the Bronx Zoo and the Statue of Liberty, as well as the Empire State Building.
The Bronx Zoo is one of five parks operated by the Wildlife Conservation Society, which also manages the New York Botanical Garden and the Bronx Museum of Natural History. If you're visiting the Bronx Zoo, take a day out and visit the New York Botanical Garden, located a little further north of the zoo. In addition to the zoo, it also offers an indoor respite for children and families, and there are also a number of outdoor activities for children as well as a variety of educational exhibitions and events.
The Bronx is one of the most densely populated counties in New York City, and occupies about a quarter of the area as the greenest district. The largest parks in New York are located in the Bronx, home to three of the ten largest parks in New York. About a quarter of all Bronx areas are covered by open spaces, including the city's largest park system, the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, and a number of smaller parks.
As the map of New York shows, the five boroughs, including the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, Staten Island and Westchester County, are all within minutes of each other. The second most recognized borough in Manhattan is undoubtedly the most populous in the city, where neighborhoods vary in size and diversity. "Most New Yorkers," as shown on the map, focus on exploring the city, as well as the most diverse neighborhoods.
If you're still unsure what a neighborhood is, read our New York moving guide to explain each of the New York boroughs. This is the first in a series of posts that provide you with information about each district and its district superintendent, also known as "Beeps."
The five boroughs were all born in New York City in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, but merged in 1998 to become the city of New Yorkers. They are the largest and most populous county in the United States with a population of more than 1.5 million people. There was a separate district for each individual born within the county, with the exception of Staten Island, Brooklyn and Queens.
When New York City annexed parts of the Bronx in 1874, it was the same as the present-day borough of Manhattan. The cities west of the Bronx River became part of New York City, and the areas east of it were annexed in 1898. In 1874, the cities west and south of the Bronx River and the Staten Island district became part of New York City.
Mulberry Street in Manhattan may attract the most tourists, but Arthur Avenue in the Bronx is the place New Yorkers go if they want authentic Italian food. The New York Botanical Garden can be accessed from Mulberry, where you have the feeling of visiting a large plant museum. But it's an excellent museum because it's where the real New Yorkers go, and that's because there are so many of them. There is no doubt that this part of the city has a lot of history and culture, as well as a lot of great restaurants and shops.
